Federal application guides
Evergreen notes for people reading a USAJOBS announcement and deciding whether their own experience is ready to apply. Built for people applying on USAJOBS — whether it’s your first federal application or you’re using a veterans’ or status hiring path. Those paths can change who may apply. They do not automatically qualify you, add preference points, or get you hired.
Peaklify sells a $49 readiness packet — these pages explain the work, not a shortcut around it.
How it works
- Choose the announcement — start from the USAJOBS job opportunity announcement (JOA: the posting you want to apply to).
- Review and confirm your facts — You review and confirm that the career facts Peaklify will use are accurate and supportable. Peaklify does not independently verify employment. It drafts only from that confirmed information.
- Review, attest, and export — download a USAJOBS résumé PDF (HTML fallback) plus a separate Application Readiness Report, then submit on USAJOBS yourself. Peaklify does not file the application.
- How to map specialized experience on a USAJOBS announcement
A practical method for reading specialized experience on a USAJOBS announcement and mapping it to duties, hours, and evidence you can review and confirm.
- Federal 2-page résumé readiness — what changed and what still must be yours
For most Title 5 jobs on USAJOBS, agencies accept résumés up to two pages. Longer uploads are generally not considered. Always follow the specific announcement if it asks for a CV or other document. The Title 5 default is a two-page ceiling, not a brevity target. Peaklify keeps confirmed JOA-relevant evidence and readable typography first; the fail-closed gate is only the final upload-ready PDF — rendered page count over two blocks that download. HTML is a fallback, not how you make the PDF.
- AI and federal applications — what Peaklify will and will not do
Clear boundaries for AI on federal job applications: drafts are prepared from career facts you review and confirm; résumé composition is deterministic. Submission, no-AI narratives, and live assessments are not in scope.
- FAQ: Federal Application Readiness Packet
Answers about the $49 Federal Application Readiness Packet: a USAJOBS résumé PDF (HTML fallback) plus an Application Readiness Report, what you still do on USAJOBS, and how you review and confirm career facts before export.
- Veterans’ Preference vs special hiring authorities
How Veterans’ Preference differs from VRA, 30% or More Disabled Veteran, and VEOA. Preference is not qualification and does not guarantee selection.
- Current and former federal employee paths
Competitive vs excepted service, status vs open competitive, transfer, reinstatement, CTAP/ICTAP/RPL, and why a current federal job does not open every announcement.
- Who may apply — eligibility vs qualifications
How to read “This job is open to” on a USAJOBS announcement. Eligibility (who may apply) is not the same as qualifications (whether your experience matches).
You submit on USAJOBS yourself. Details in Terms and Pricing.
